Russian Belgorod Hit by Mass Missile Attack, Energy Infrastructure Damaged

Belgorod and surrounding areas came under a reported mass missile attack on August 30, with regional authorities reporting serious damage to energy infrastructure and disruptions to electricity, water and heating supplies. No casualties had been reported in the initial official update.

Mass Missile Attack Hits Belgorod

Belgorod and Belgorod District were subjected to a mass missile attack on Sunday, August 30, according to Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.

Gladkov said the attack caused serious damage to energy infrastructure, leading to interruptions in electricity, water supply and heating for some residents. Emergency services were working at the affected locations, while authorities said the full extent of the damage would be assessed during daylight.

Residential Buildings and Social Facility Damaged

In a later update, Gladkov reported damage to windows in two apartment buildings in Belgorod.

A social facility also had windows broken and its facade damaged.

In Belgorod District, damage was reported to a vehicle in the settlement of Dubovoye, while roofs of private houses were damaged in the villages of Nikolskoye and Tavrovo.

No Casualties Reported in the Initial Updates

The regional authorities said they had received no reports of casualties following the missile attack at the time of the latest update.

Operational services continued inspecting the affected areas and documenting the consequences.

Further Damage Reported From Drone Attack

The missile strike was followed by additional drone activity.

Gladkov said a drone strike damaged equipment at a production facility in Belgorod. The incident occurred as attacks on Belgorod and surrounding areas continued.
