Rubio Confirms July 23 Meeting With Lavrov, Ukraine War to Top Agenda
Washington, D.C., July 22, 2026 — U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has confirmed that he will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on July 23, with Russia’s war against Ukraine expected to be the central topic of discussion. Speaking to reporters, Rubio said the meeting would focus primarily on the war in Ukraine and broader security issues affecting Europe.
