Four Psychosocial Support Centers to Be Created in Zhytomyr Region
Four communities in Zhytomyr region will develop psychosocial support centers providing psychological rehabilitation, social adaptation and mobile assistance to people affected by the war. The projects are being supported through Polish development cooperation.
Four Communities to Develop Support Centers
Projects to establish teams of four psychosocial support centers will be implemented in the Berdychiv, Korostyshiv, Olevsk and Ovruch urban territorial communities, informed Zhytomyr Regional State Administration.
The centers are intended to expand access to psychological rehabilitation and social adaptation services for residents affected by the war.
The program will also support mobile multidisciplinary teams, allowing specialists to provide services in other communities where there is a documented need for psychosocial assistance.
Four More Communities Receive Grants
The projects were selected through the Ukraine 2026/UA-PRO_MentalHealth_Zhytomyr_Otwarty (website) grant program.
Four applications were submitted to the competition. Following monitoring visits and a final evaluation, grants were awarded to projects from the Hryshkivtsi, Yemilchyn, Slovichne and Semenivka territorial communities in Zhytomyr region.
Support Will Include Mobile Services
The psychosocial support services will not be limited to the four communities hosting the centers.
Other communities that identify a need for mobile support will be able to receive assistance through cooperation agreements between territorial communities.
Project Financed With Polish Support
The projects are being implemented as part of PRO_MentalHealth_Zhytomyr, an initiative focused on the psychosocial reintegration of people affected by the war at the local level.
The initiative is implemented by the Polish Solidarity Fund’s Representation in Ukraine with financial support from Poland’s development cooperation program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration published the same information on August 31, confirming the details of the four centers and the selected community projects.
